The EU FP7 project TRANSFORuM is developing “stakeholder-driven” roadmaps towards the implementation of the European Commission’s 2011 Transport White Paper. More specifically: Towards the implementation of four crucial goals of this visionary policy document:

  • Clean urban transport (Phasing out conventionally-fuelled vehicles in cities. Essentially CO2-free city logistics)
  • Long distance freight (Shifting 50% of road freight over 300 km to rail or waterborne transport)
  • High-speed rail (Most medium-distance passengers will use rail; instead of cars or planes)
  • ITS (Towards a European multimodal transport information, management and payment system)

The results and conclusions will be presented and discussed at TRANSFORuM's final conference in Brussels on December 8 2014. Until then, there is a window of opportunity to review and comment on the near-final version of these roadmaps. A unique opportunity to make your voice heard!
