Rupprecht Consult, who co-ordinates the TRANSFORuM project, welcomes this high level endorsement very much.

“Thanks to its very design, I am convinced that the [TRANSFORuM] project has the potential to influence the future of European Transport Policy for years to come.” This sentence is in a letter signed by Matthias Ruete, Director-General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission.

Rupprecht Consult, who co-ordinates the TRANSFORuM project, welcomes this high level endorsement very much. It shows the real commitment of the European Commission for this important process and will surely boost the participation of all relevant stakeholders in TRANSFORuM events and discussions.

This project will develop a robust and holistic view on the policies, funding mechanisms, trends, actors, challenges and barriers in the context of the implementation of four key goals in the 2011 White Paper on Transport:

  • Clean Urban Transport and CO2-free city logistics
  • Shift of road freight to rail and waterborne transport
  • Complete and maintain the European high-speed rail network
  • Multimodal information, management and payment system

In order to be practically relevant for implementers and policy makers, the TRANSFORuM roadmaps and concrete recommendations will be firmly based on the views of all key stakeholders. The interaction with them revolves around 11 events (the next one in Gdansk on June 24 and 25) and various other communication channels.

We share Mr. Ruete’s conclusion: “Now you can be part of it”.
